THE DMA CHART

The DMA (Direct Memory Access) is a data transfer method used by some I/O cards. A DMA channel is a data bus line to transfer data in and out of main memory, directly to the DMA I/O card, by passing the CPU from controlling the action. This usually speeds up the over all speed of the PC.
