Clearing Your Browser’s Cache
Browsers for Windows:

- Open Firefox
- Click the Tools menu option
- Click Options
- Click the Privacy icon to the left
- Click the Clear button that appears to the right of Cache
Internet Explorer - Windows
- Open Internet Explorer
- Click the Tools menu option
- Click Internet Options
- Look in the middle section of this window
- Click the Delete Files button under Temporary Internet files
- You will be asked to confirm this
- Click OK
- The hour glass will disappear when it is complete--this may take a bit of time
- Click the Settings button under Temporary Internet files
- Look under Check for newer versions of stored pages
- Select Every visit to the page
- Click OK
- This will close the Settings window
- Click OK
- This will close the Internet Options window
Netscape 6.x; 7.x - Windows
- Open Netscape
- Click the Edit menu option
- Click Preferences
- When the Preferences window opens, look under Category on the left
- Click the right-pointing triangle next to Advanced if it is not already expanded
- Click Cache under the Advanced heading
- Click the Clear Memory Cache button (in Netscape 7.x this is not an available option)
- Click the Clear Disk Cache button
- In the preferences window, look under Compare the page in the cache to the page on the network
- Change the setting to Every time I view the page
- Click OK
Netscape 4.x - Windows
- Open Netscape
- Click the Edit menu option
- Click Preferences
- When the Preferences window opens, look under Category on the left
- Click the [+] sign next to Advanced if it is not already expanded
- Click Cache under the Advanced heading
- Click the Clear Memory Cache button
- You will be asked to confirm this
- Click OK
- Click the Clear Disk Cache button
- You will be asked to confirm this
- Click OK
- In the preferences window, look under Document in cache is compared to document on network
- Change the setting to Every time
- Click OK
Netscape 4.x - Mac
- Open Netscape
- Click the Edit menu option
- Click Preferences
- When the Preferences window opens, look under Category on the left
- Click the right-pointing triangle next to Advanced if it is not already expanded
- Click Cache under the Advanced heading
- Click the Clear Disk Cache Now button
- You will be asked to confirm this
- Click OK
- In the preferences window, look under Page in cache is compared to page on network
- Change the setting to Every time
- Click OK
Netscape 7.x - Mac
- Open Netscape
- Click the Edit menu option
- Click Preferences
- When the Preferences window opens, look under Category on the left
- Click the right-pointing triangle next to Advanced if it is not already expanded
- Click Cache under the Advanced heading
- Click the Clear Memory Cache button
- Click the Clear Disk Cache button
- In the preferences window, look under Compare the page in the cache to the page on the network
- Change the setting to Every time I view the page
- Click OK
Internet Explorer 5.x - Mac
- Open Internet Explorer
- Click the Edit menu option
- Click Preferences
- Click the right-pointing triangle next to Web Browser if is not already expanded
- Click Advanced under the Web Browser heading
- Click the Empty Now button under Cache
- Select Always next to Update Pages
- ClickOK
Safari - Mac
- Launch the Safari browser.
- Open the Safari menu.
- Choose Empty Cache.
- Click the Empty button.
