Restoring product keys from Windows 9X/ME Registry
You can find the Registry in c:\windowssystem.dat and c:\windowsuser.dat. If you open them up with Notepad or Wordpad you will mostly get a lot of garbled junk, but you can still get most of your Product Keys out of it. Just do a search on "productid" and you'll find them.
