Silver Sky Imports
Silver Sky Imports has established a business using eBay as their main channel for selling their imported products and came to us to streamline the selling process with eBay and develop a new website to sell their products directly to customers. They sell many imported handicrafts from Tibet, Nepal and other areas. Their biggest selling items are singing bowls. If you're into eastern religion or culture, they have prayer wheels, singing bowl tools and cushions, wood masks and other items that have been handmade that you're sure to enjoy.
We started with the backend of their new store which allowed them to add and edit items, with pictures, any time they wanted. They could put those items into
any number of categories or just leave them hidden from the public. From there we started adding the eBay functionality and created a scheduler so that
they could select an item and specify a time to have it listed on eBay. When the item is listed, it uses a template that we created for specifically for the auctions
The website would then track that auction and would create an invoice for it when it was complete.
For payments, the winners of the auctions could pay like normal through the PayPal/eBay websites or they could pay through Silver Sky Imports site. We created an order system that allows them to add their auctions to their cart on the site, and buy any other items they would like on the site. Once the order is complete, through the site or eBay, a new invoice is created and an email is sent purchaser with the details of the order. For website orders we integrated with PayPal since most eBay users have an account and it also allows just straight credit card processing for those that don't have an account.
Shipping invoices are created dynamically as PDF documents for archiving on Silver Sky Import's end and printed and shipped with the items. When an item is shipped
they have the option of sending an email to notify the customer and posting feedback on eBay all through their website, saving time.
We also designed their new logo and website. Their logo shows where they import their products from mostly, the Himalayan Mountain region. When we built their website we built it with search engine optimization in mind. Not only does this make it easier for search engines, it also makes it easier for people to use to. Included in their site is our custom content management system so they can create and edit pages whenever they would like. Our content mangement system works a lot like Microsoft Word and allows them to edit text and upload pictures on the fly. It definitely makes editing webpages easier for the user.
To help promote their new website we started with on-site search engine optimization where we make sure every page can be found by the search engines, have proper title and meta tags and are linked properly from the rest of the site. For the off-site optimization we started a link campaign to build inbound links to their site to improve their traffic and ranking in the search engines.
